Loreto Reilly
Born in Longford, Ireland and a graduate of the National College of Art and Design in Dublin, Loreto Reilly is a successful Irish Artist who divides her time between Kells, County Meath and the Languedoc Region of Southern France.
The exploration of colour and form through paintings and ceramics is integral to Loreto’s ouevre. A fluidity suffuses her work, in the soft outlines of her watercolours, and in the malleability of unfired clay. Loreto takes her inspiration from the natural environment around her, from the sunflowers of the South of France to the bog cotton of Ireland.
Loreto has had exhibitions, both group and solo, in Ireland, France and Canada since 1990.
Loreto’s work recently showcased in exhibitions in the Solstice Arts Center, RDS, and Oldcastle Library in January 2011.
