John McCarthy

Born in London, England, John McCarthy now lives in Meath.

Even though his occupation was largely in construction he always had an admiration and interest in art and would regularly paint and draw in his spare time. He was, at this stage, largely self taught.

As a result of a life changing accident in 1994, John decided to pursue his interest in art further. He took part in a number of art classes including 2 years of night classes in stained glass at NCAD. He has, since then, worked on many stained glass commissions including his recent project involving designing and making eighteen windows for an oratory in Birr, Co. Offaly.

John also gives classes in stained glass & mosaics.
