Simone Calvin was born in Dorset and has a degree in silversmithing and jewellery. She moved to County Meath twelve years ago.
Simone has been involved in projects for the Jack and Jill foundation including the recent postcard project and has taken part in group exhibitions in London, Dublin, Dorset, Devon and Meath.
Pencils, acrylic, collage and wire work are Simone’s main media. She also likes to create things from recycled materials. She loves animal portraits and buildings. Her most recent work of layered images is trying to capture the life within a space, as well as its current façade by researching its history. Simone layers real and imagined images together to try and get the feel of a building or space to portray how it was used and how it is today.
