The Creativity & Change programme targets change-makers, educators, activists, artists, community workers, adult education tutors, youth workers, volunteers and anyone who is interested how creative engagement can nurture global citizenship and empathic action around local and global justice themes

This Level 9 CIT Special Purpose Award is offered over 8 weekends of the academic year, September – May.

Portumna’s Shorelines Arts Festival
Art Exhibition in The Gallery at the Workhouse

Once again, The Gallery at The Irish Workhouse Centre in Portumna will be home to the Shorelines Art Exhibition from September 4th-24th (includes the festival weekend September 14th-17th). The exhibition will feature artwork from local as well as invited artists. Invited artists for 2017 include Liz Doyle, Judy Hamilton, Anna Hryniewicz, Jim Osborne and Lorna Watkins.

If you would like to get involved, here is the essential information:

Select your one of your pieces (painting, carving, photography etc) and bring it along to the Irish Workhouse Centre in Portumna on either Sunday, the 27th or Monday, the28th of August between 6-7.30 pm. Work submitted after this date will not be exhibited as space is limited. (We would ask you not to submit a piece that has been previously shown in a Shorelines Festival exhibition).
The Registration Form - to be completed in advance – may be downloaded here.
There is a nominal charge of €5 to cover the cost of displaying materials and insurance.
Very important! Please make sure your work is ready for hanging – pictures should be framed and have a cord or wire at the back. If you do not intend to frame it yourself, allow plenty of time to get it framed by a professional!
Sculptures or free-standing work, please contact Margaret on 086 319 5603.
Please decide in advance if your piece is for sale and the price. Where a work of art is sold, we take a modest 15% commission. Kindly build that commission into the price you place on your work. Pieces not for sale will be noted as such in the catalogue.
Work may not be removed during the exhibition. After the exhibition, work should be collected on Sunday, 25th September between 3-5pm.

Artist and Youth Work Residency Scheme – Call for Applications

The Artist and Youth Work Residency Scheme – Open for Applications!

Do you have a good idea for a youth arts project in your youth group but require the funding to work with an artist?

Applications are now invited for the Artist and Youth Work Residency Scheme programme for projects commencing in September 2017. The scheme is managed by the National Youth Council of Ireland on behalf of the Arts Council and the Department of Children and Youth Affairs by whom it is jointly funded.

The scheme is designed to promote innovative partnerships between youth groups, artists and (where relevant) arts organisations. A residency may take the form of an artist in residence in a youth work setting and/or a youth group in residence in an arts setting.

Call for Kerry Artist-in-Residence Panel

Call for Kerry Artist in Residence Panel:

Kerry County Council co-funded by the Arts Council and supported by the National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) and Trustees of Muckross, invites applications for an artist RESIDENCY panel. The panel will remain active for 3 years from the date of selection.

Literature, film, dance and music are the focus areas for the coming three years. Subject to budgets, one or more residencies will be enacted each year, contract duration will depend on budgets.

Artists Needed: Hullabaloo Arts Festival

HULLABALOO! OFFALY’S CHILDREN’S ARTS FESTIVAL
ARTISTS NEEDED
Call for artists, musicians, filmmakers, drama practitioners, dancers, writers (and more!) to submit proposals for workshops/performances during Hullabaloo! Offaly’s Children’s Arts Festival Nov 1 – 4 2017 in Birr, Clara, and Edenderry.
If interested in applying please find below specifications needed for proposals:-
o Your proposal should be for a short innovative creative experience for children for age ranges up to 12 years (such as 3- 5yrs, 6-8yrs or 9-12yrs)
o Workshops should last no more than an hour for younger children and a maximum of 2 hours for older children.
o Your budget should include any materials, your *fee and expenses.
o We have a set workshop *fee of €80 – €120 depending on length.
o Ideally some workshops will take place in Birr, Clara and/or Edenderry.
o Chosen Artists will be required to be Garda Vetted
NB: We cannot pay you without a tax clearance and cannot accept your proposal unless we are assured you can get one.

The sixth annual SURVEYOR exhibition presents a selection of current contemporary visual arts throughout County Meath. SURVEYOR serves to support, value and encourage artists in the development of their practice and creative career.

We are delighted to continue the Solstice Visual Arts Award of €1,500 for a single artist exhibiting in SURVEYOR.
