‘Through Our Eyes’ the third annual Connolly Collective exhibition at the newly established gallery on the hospital campus takes place from 19 October until 2018.

This exhibition is about the potential of colour to influence our physical and mental wellbeing.
The exhibition is open weekdays from 10-4.

An Essence of Presence: a photographic exhibition by Suella Holland

Launch night: 8.00pm, Friday 13th October
Tuar Ard Arts Centre, Moate, Co Westmeath.

Runs until December 14th

Just as a picture taken off a wall leaves a mark behind, so too do people by their absence. Personal belongings abandoned, a page turned at the corner as a bookmark, sheets left on the bed ready for sleeping in, LPs on the record player, clothes hanging in the wardrobe ready to wear – all of these items leave an essence of presence – a residual feeling in the atmosphere almost like a memory. It is this presence of lives lived and memories made that photographer Suella Holland has expertly and carefully captured for her exhibition in Tuar Ard. With over 183,000 unlived-in properties in Ireland according to Census 2016 it makes you wonder, where did everybody go?
Admission free, all welcome.

About the Artist :
Born in Dublin, Suella Holland grew up in Navan, Co Meath. She studied photography in DIT and graduated in 1993. Suella has exhibited regularly with various arts and photography groups and toured her first solo exhibition, ‘Stories That Remain Untold’ in 2015/16. Suella is a member of Meath Arts Group and works at The Gallery Press, Loughcrew and lives in County Cavan with her family.

In her work she explores the textures and depths of colour in dereliction and the hidden world and the beauty that lies behind things which have been forgotten. Her artistic journey is documented on her Facebook page Forsaken Ireland. https://www.facebook.com/ForsakenEire/

Irish Polish Society Art Exhibition” Earth to Air” show.

There are only a few days left to see the show. The last day is Tues 10th October.

‘Earth to Air’ is presented over a range of media, including oils, acrylics, pastels, ceramics, etching and a variety of printing techniques with artists Orla Kaminska, Edith Poole, Helena Johnston, Joanna Szlugaj-Zacharska, Vladislav Curfew Dainovski, Marta Ozog, Ernada Husic, Ula Retzlaff, Marysia Harasimowicz, Anna Hryniewicz and Pat Donnelly.

‘Dream Lives’ Exhibition by Simon McDermott: 10 October – 14 November

Dream Lives is a collection of new photographs by Meath based artist, Simon McDermott. His current photo work is inspired by the world of dreams. The mysterious imagery of this intangible world is an area which Simon is currently exploring in this series.
The images in this collection deal with the symbolism of certain dreams as well as recurring dreams which the artist has experienced. These photographic representations are an attempt to scratch at the surface of this world and pose questions about potential meaning and the very existence of these dreams.
The role of memory in the visual representation of dreams is also an area which interests the artist. Some of these images utilize digital manipulation which is reflective of the very synthetic nature of dreaming in the human mind.

The sixth annual SURVEYOR exhibition presents a selection of current contemporary visual arts throughout County Meath. SURVEYOR serves to support, value and encourage artists in the development of their practice and creative career.

We are delighted to continue the Solstice Visual Arts Award of €1,500 for a single artist exhibiting in SURVEYOR.

Weathering the Storm” an exhibition of new work by Ann Meldon Hugh at the Chimera Gallery opens on July 1st at 7pm.

Ann Meldon Hugh is an award winning sculptor living and working in Kells Co.Meath. Ann has 30 public sculptures throughout Ireland. She works in bronze and ceramic. Most of the work in this exhibition is in ceramic, a medium Ann is passionate about and uses in a unique way.

The Chimera Gallery is owned by Dave O’Shea has become the most important Gallery in the midlands showcasing established and emerging Irish and international artists.

The exhibition will run for the month of July.
