The fifth annual SURVEYOR Art Exhibition presents a broad selection of current contemporary visual art practices throughout County Meath.
This year we are thrilled to establish the Solstice Visual Arts Award. This is an award of €1,200 for a single artist exhibiting in SURVEYOR. The new award aims to stimulate and support the development of visual art practices in Meath. SURVEYOR is selected by Mary Cremin.

Reflections Workshops
Saturday June 11th
11am – 2pm
“Show and Tell” in Solstice – bring finished unframed self-portraits, Mette will take work ready for framing to framers. All other work for finished or or unfinished for Reflections exhibition can be presented or discussed.
Thursday June 15th
6.30-9pm
Mette’s workshop on writing about your work, Artist statement 10 euros, the last workshop for Reflections exhibition 7.30 to 9:30 Solstice.
Final meeting for Reflections show will be on Wed the 6th of July all participating artists must attend, with full plans for invitation lists, submission pieces and general suggestions to make a great show.
Reflections 2016 – Celebrating Ten Years of Meath Arts Group
Thurs 21 July – Fri 12 August, everyday 11:00am – 4:00pm
This exhibition of work by Meath Arts Group, on the tenth anniversary of their inception, takes its inspiration from reflections of Irish life from 1916 to 2016. Collaboration, support and collective creativity, which has formed the foundation of the group, continues to manifest in the artist’s interpretation of this year’s theme.
Opening 7:00pm Thurs 21 July – running until Fri 12 August, gallery open 11:00am – 4:00pm
Arts Trail
The group will be spreading their art all over Navan and Co. Meath in an Arts Trail from Meath Co. Library to Navan Shopping center to highlight the individual talents of our group while tying together all of the strands that illustrate our unity as well as our diversity. Artists will talk about their work we will give out fliers for the arts trail at the Solstice opening on July 21st .
Drop off date for work is the 15th of July 11:00am – 4:00pm
Selection: Artists can submit five pieces for selection with one guaranteed to be hung.
The Collective Piece Portraits
It was agreed that the portraits will not be part of this selection therefore everyone should have a portrait of themselves or past members who helped to make this strong group grow to where it is today.We will involve original founding members in 10th anniversary.
The Connolly Collective
Meath arts group were so proud to have members take part in this exhibition. We all have to say a job well done to Theresa King for her dedication and direction of this exhibition.
This exhibition by 12 artists from The Connolly Collective art group aims to raise awareness of the healing power of art in a hospital setting and support the hospital charity Blanchardstown Hospital Society. All 38 works are on extended loan to the hospital to be enjoyed by patients, public and staff. Everyone is welcome!
